They say the magical bird burned on a funeral pyre only to rise from the ashes with renewed life and lived again.  I had a painting that was, well, way overdone and dead. But, instead of trashing the canvas, I added paint in a very intuitive frenzy. And this painting gazed back at me. With renewed power, it lived.
