And Then It Happens, 24 x 24inches

I usually name paintings after I have finished them, reflecting back on the relationship I had while painting.  This piece underwent many iterations.  There are layers upon layers that you can not see anymore, but still, they affect the finished expression.  And then it happens....you know that last color, or gesture, brings it to a place where it's OK to step back and just be.  Painting teaches me so much about life.  I hope this serene, cool blue, electrified by the fiery complement of orange causes you to stop and feel like then it happens for you too!
