These expressionistic paintings evolve not as a documentation of specific place and time, but an emotional reaction to what is in front of me. This composition of seeing a line connect edge to edge is so innately powerful, we feel we're standing and looking at the field before us as location. When I paint these works, I stand in the same place as you'll be standing. I look and ask "where does this take me?" wandering as gesture and color builds to someplace boundary-less deep within. When you take your place in front of this horizon, I hope you'll look and ask "where does this take me?" then remember and imagine and wander as your own story unfolds.
